Danielle Richardson Biography

After taking her first yoga class in 1987, Danielle was thoroughly impressed by the profound effect just one class had on her posture. Her posture felt unusually effortless and lifted the very next day. Since then yoga has become a lifelong passion. Danielle began practicing yoga with the intention of healing herself both physically and emotionally, and through self inquiry developed an understanding of how the body, mind, and breath work together to enhance well being. Her intention to teach yoga grew from her desire to teach others about this valuable and unlimited healing resource. She believes that yoga is one of the most rewarding and empowering gifts one can give to one's self. Her eclectic teaching style encompasses her life experiences and is firmly rooted in the Iyengar Yoga tradition. After a four year apprenticeship with Iyengar yoga super-genius Mitra Tredway, she obtained her certification as an interdisciplinary yoga teacher in 2005 from the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica. She currently lives in Maui and teaches yoga internationally.
